Safety Tips for Students:
- When you find a Tutor contact him or her via email.
- Ask for references.
- Do a Google search for more information.
- Search the web to find out if your Tutor is on Facebook, Twitter, Linked In, or other Social Networks.
- Arrange the first meeting in a public place.
- Spend time talking with and getting to know your Tutor.
- If you are employing a Tutor for your child, make sure that your child has a chance to get to know and feel comfortable with their Tutor.
- Trust you instincts. Only employ a Tutor with whom you feel comfortable.
Safety Tips for Tutors:
- Do not give out more personal information than necessary (Email addresses and Business phone numbers are ok).
- When you post your listing, do not give your home address (Business addresses or City and State are ok).
- Be careful of scammers requesting that you email any personal information to them (ie: addresses, bank account information).
